Pros
1. Free bread every morning, fruits on Wednesday, Chinese dinner if you stay late 2. Solid benefits 3. Easy work (sometimes it’s too easy) 4. Good learning opportunities for fresh graduates 5. Growing company
Cons
1. Low pay. Bonus pay for salaries employees is way lower than hourly employees. Pay raise is pathetic. 2. Too much overtime. Expect to work 9-7 pm everyday (longer if you are busy), Saturday half day, and some Sunday or holiday if they tell you. You have no full holidays as long as you work here because they will force you to come one day on holiday weekend. 2 days is the highest break you can get. You will never get 3 days off (Except new year holiday). 3. Poor management and lots of complains over nothing. That’s the manager’s jobs - to watch you and think of what to complain. Since they don’t know any technical or engineering stuffs. 4. Chinese culture. You will hear Chinese at least 90% of the time, 5% other languages and 5% English. You will be left out if you don’t speak Chinese. 5. Messy work environment and lack of resources. The whole workplace is too messy, tiny, out of place and no room to place servers. You don’t get anything of your own. You will be sharing with other people’s stuffs. You have to wait until someone finishes using something. 6. No room for growth. You will be doing same boring stuffs every single day after like 3 months or so on. There is no much to learn, grow or gain experience after 1 year. 7. Physically tiring. You will be standing and moving around all the time at least in my role. The whole day, I probably sit only like an hour. It’s full of heavy workload every single day even if the job is easy. 8. Mentally stressful. Everything is urgent and rushed, they will push you all the time. Multitasking doesn’t mean you are doing 2 things, here it means you will be doing 5-6 things at the same time.
