Pros
The program staff was extremely welcoming and so appreciative of anyone willing to work together. You really felt like you were part of a family who cared about you. From the Director of Programs on down, people valued encouraging and supporting one another in common goals. Meeting and forming relationships with so many people who are open to hope was definitely the highlight of the job.
Cons
There are very thick color/socio-economic lines between the upper management (upper class Caucasians) and the program staff (lower class minorities). So it was important to not let people see you get too friendly with program staff if you were in the admin team. Lots of nepotism in small upper management team, and all the double standards that come with. 5/7 members were related w/one being a very close friend of the family.
