Cons
This company used to be a fun start-up to work at but 2 rounds of restructuring within 3 months killed the culture, the energy in the office, and made it difficult to understand the companies priorities. It feels like the CEO makes a lot of empty promises and there's a lack of clarity about the company's future and goals beyond trying to become profitable. -Everyone is overworked and doing the job of 3+ people. There's no support and when you tell your manager that you're struggling to keep up with everything because of a lack of resources the answer is just a shoulder shrug and a promise that things will "get better soon once we become profitable." But that response was followed by lay-offs so it feels like the company is a sinking ship. "Hang in there" is also their excuse when you try to get anything close to market rate for your position or for all of the work that you do. They don't value creative work in the way that they value marketing and it's blatantly obvious to the team in a way that's super discouraging to those who put in OT working on creative projects. -They seem to be skirting a lot of their values in favor of turning their product into something that might be more profitable than a meal kit and it feels like they're grabbing at straws. It's hard to watch and it's hard to be a part of and I'm not surprised that so many people are jumping ship since the lay-offs. I wish the company well because of the great people who work there but I'm glad to have moved on.
