Pros
- You will find SOME talented engineers and good people
Cons
- You will be hired to be a monkey coder. - Your opinions will get fired if they do not align with the right people who control the company's technical direction. - They have a political working place. The individuals and groups interested are above the company. Be careful about assuming you are doing the right thing for the company; it doesn't matter. - They have a toxic company culture with misleading values. Do not believe in "Disagree and Commit" as long as you agree with what they say. Their messed-up values expect people who disagree to be as unprofessional as they are. Do not trust the environment. Be extremely careful about what you say, even if you are professionally and technically correct. You will be fired. - Engineer Managers are untrustworthy. - Horrible engineering leadership. - Mediocre software engineers. The talented and good people keep leaving due to the opportunities in the company and burnout. - Overengineered and poor programming practices. - Control freak "leaders." - Self-assigning "Architects" will tell you what to do. Your feedback, concerns, and participation means nothing. It is better to avoid it.
