What they really mean by this is that they expect you to work insane hours (sometimes until 2, 3, maybe 4 AM) which leads to lots of employee burn out, the absence of a personal life and churn. - no 401k, no stock options and terrible health insurance. - your great ideas will be called idiotic and then implemented by someone else higher up that takes all of the credit - the company only has one real customer - It was once an innovative think tank that welcomed "different thinking", the round pegs in square holes, has turned into a black and white, IBM like corporation with zero culture. - the people that do the most important work in the company make embarrassing salaries while the owners laugh all the way to the bank.
