Pros

I personally think the flexable work schedule, ability to interact with management any time of the day, the open door philosophy and the good pay arfe some of the stronger resons to work for State Farm. A big thing at this point in the time is job security. I have never know State Farm to lay people off. They are always given the chance to move to another location is a certain site closes down. The people who work for the company are honest, caring and hard working. People are always helpful and strive to get things donw when needed.

Cons

Mobiliy is the key to upward progress. If you won't move your stuck. State Farm has a least recently gone to a nationwide postion program where it used to be only within a certain zone.

Pros

(At the time) Fair pay and predictable bonus structure They were pretty good at covering travel expenses and paying them back quickly Diverse workforce & diversity initiatives Fun and funny coworkers Opportunities for growth Again, this was all four years ago and has likely changed

Cons

(At the time and now, according to other comments) Arrogant to a fault Total lack of innovation & willingness to innovate Odd attachment to the company's past (which prevents progress) High number of veterans (20+ years) who are determined to get that retirement money, and therefore, are resistant to change and technology Heavy reliance on command and control management style Poor decision-making that leads to losses of all kinds
