Pros

Pros: Fast paced, men’s cuts only, so quick and simple, laid back clientele, comfortable dress code

Cons

Cons: Your tips on card payments do not leave the register, so they get taxed. And at least at this location every single customer pays with a card. So much is taken out on my paycheck it really feels like I’m working for no tips. Each haircut you take has like a 1,0000 step list of each specific thing you need to remember and do EXACTLY how you were shown. I really wouldn’t mind all of that if I was actually getting the great tips the company bragged about which led to me applying. Made me buy expensive new clippers Stylists are required to pay for the products we are required to use on customers. Stylists are responsible for any state board fines the store gets (is this legal..?) was told the stylists in the store split the cost if there is ever a fine. Very rude management. A common response from management when asking for help is an eye roll or condescending chuckle. Mandatory unpaid work events. Unprofessional environment, management gossiping in front of clientele etc Lots of late closing shifts followed by opening shifts barely 12 hours later. No commission. There is ‘incentive’ for when you hit certain numbers in every category (retail sales, impossible haircut times, AND up selling numbers) all need to reach unrealistic quotas to make any incentive, I was even told my a coworker oh my first day that they’re practically impossible to actually reach

Pros

Pay, schedule flexibility, growth opportunities, company events, benefits

Cons

The pay is excellent as long as you’re performance is strong and especially if your flexible with your schedule and full time. But if you’re not a good performer or super part time, this might not be the best place for you.

Pros

Flexible schedule and decent pay.

Cons

Team leader claimed to care about his team, but only cared about a few! Team leader cared more about employees, causing problems than the employees doing their job! Team leader got teary-eyed when an employee needed to be let go for being aggressive with another stylist! Team leader refused to pay out vacation time to an employee who quit, stating that it wasn’t policy and had never done before, employee who quit showed proof that it had been done before and team leader still refused to pay out vacation. Very few policy and procedures are followed per Sport Clips handbook, 100% would not recommend working for Sport Clips, especially at this location. Well hourly pay is decent, bonus on any level is nearly impossible, especially as a manager! As a stylist, you have to hit all three metrics to bonus at all, and as a manager, you yourself have to hit all the metrics, and you have to have at least one stylist who hits their metrics as well.
