Pros
I enjoyed my years working with SportClips, the stores are very clean, training is ongoing and supportive, a majority of the clientele are men, coworkers are usually more like teammates, sports always on the TVs, and products are guy centric. Pay is decent, tips are normally good, and benefits depends upon your owner.
Cons
You are completely at the mercy of your franchisee (team leader), and if your franchisee closes the shop, corporate will do nothing to find you another job. Corporate promotes a "team" mentality but they do not reciprocate with the stylists. My shop closed with no warning (doors were locked while I was finishing up a client) and was out of a job. Corporate did nothing to help any of us find another SportClips job, and my final pay was short. Keep an eye on the financial health of your shop.
