Pros
Spectra Energy has one of the best work environment in the industry. Everyone is always willing to help. People do not try to trample on others to get what they want. There's also relative job security either as an employee or contractor. The Company does not encourage high employee turnover.
Cons
The average age of the workforce is over 55. The percentage of the workforce in their 20/30's is very little, hence succession planning seem non-existent. This may also be the reason the Company has not considered having a daycare center for employees since the majority of the workforce is above that threshold thereby serving as a disadvantage to the younger ones. Also decision making can be faster. Adapting to process change is very slow.
