Pros
Friendly and supportive coworkers who contribute to a positive team environment. The company is also innovative and takes pride in developing and maintaining a high-quality product.
Cons
Working at Spears Manufacturing came with several challenges. Management tends to be highly micromanaging and often uses fear-based tactics rather than supportive leadership. Communication is inconsistent, with conflicting information shared between employees, creating confusion and frustration.
HR does not feel like a resource for employees and appears to operate primarily in the company’s best interest rather than advocating for staff concerns.
Work-life balance is poor. The position was presented as a 40-hour work week, but after being hired, expectations shifted to a minimum of 50 hours per week, plus weekends on call. This makes it difficult to maintain personal and family responsibilities.
Compensation is low compared to expectations, and the benefits package is below standard. Vacation time is also very limited—no vacation is offered until after one year of employment, and even then it’s less than a week.
