Pros

WORKING ON ROCKETS - Doesn't get much cooler than that. While not everyone works specifically on rocket boosters, there are lots of awesome job opportunities working on really cool and extremely interesting projects. Great company atmosphere- Everyone that I've worked with is a lot of fun and really laid back. Although people are laid back and easy to get along with, everyone is still very focused on their job and doing everything safely and to the best of their ability. Really good balance between work focus and enjoyment while at the workplace. Everyone gathers for launches to watch together and for big testing milestones. Always a good time. Awesome company perks Really good company transparency- Constant communication from upper management on the direction of the company, direction of your group, what goals/dates want to be met. Able to easily access any information necessary and communicate with others about potential issues or new ideas. Open to ideas- Almost all leads are open to new ideas and constantly upgrading processes, systems and/or programs.

Cons

Work/Life balance- Being an engineering "start-up", the hours can be relatively long. A 60-65 hour work week can be seen as the norm. But if you're doing something you love... is it all that bad? Deadlines- Elon is definitely known for some aggressive deadlines. While this is sometimes really great, and pushes the boundaries of space technology, it can also bite some of the engineers/techs in the butt. With hard deadlines on the horizon, weekends can easily disappear. Again, not too unexpected from an engineering "start-up" in the aerospace industry.

Pros

* **Unmatched Mission & Impact:** You are literally working on rockets and spacecraft. The cool factor is 10/10. * **Brilliant Coworkers:** You will be surrounded by some of the smartest, most driven engineers in the world. * **Insane Career Growth:** SpaceX on your resume is a golden ticket. You will learn more here in 3 months than in 3 years at a normal company. * **Hands-on Experience:** They actually trust interns with real, critical hardware. No boring coffee-fetching tasks.

Cons

**Cons:** * **Zero Work-Life Balance:** 70-80 hours a week is the norm, not the exception. Say goodbye to your social life and sleep. * **Extreme Burnout:** The "hustle culture" is toxic. You are expected to treat the company as your entire life. * **Mediocre Pay:** The hourly pay is average, especially when you factor in the insane hours and the high cost of living in LA/Hawthorne. * **Chaotic Management:** Decisions can change overnight based on whatever Elon Musk tweets or feels like doing that morning.
