Door to door sales
Long hours, up to twelve hours a day
Gas, food, and other travel expenses are not compensated
100% commission
Extreme miles/wear on your car are legitimate concerns
Time spent in the office for morning meetings is not paid
"Optional" crew nights and team nights twice weekly often take place in bars, and alcohol consumption with team members is a regular and encouraged part of time spent outside of work
Process (vs. promise, see above) of advancement is next to impossible, and success occurs mainly due to favoritism by managers and sheer luck in recruiting
Standards for advancement rely exclusively on recruitment for the company
"Meetings" are repetitive and designed to keep recruits around for as long as possible
It's a numbers game; as soon as you leave, there is another fresh recruit ready to replace you
Language used by managers in interviews, and even after you are hired, is vague and designed to keep the promise of advancement alive
During my time at the company, I didn't meet a single employee (besides the manager) for whom money was not an issue at some point
