Great company culture, commitment to the growth of their employees, stability. Really fun place to work if you like a hybrid work environment where you get to connect with your team in person frequently.

Some of the client work is frustrating to manage and technically unchallenging. Lack autonomy for tech stacks but the company is always working on improving it.

They genuinely care about their employees well being. They genuinely try to be accessible and transparent. They try really hard to follow good engineering practices even when clients push them not to (although not always).

They do annual salary reviews. When it came time to review mine, they only offered me a pay cut. Their reasoning was that I was making far more than any of the other engineers at my same level. I asked if I can be promoted, but they said they didn't have a career path for engineers to go higher than where I was currently. They said they hoped to fix it by the time it was time for my next review. I quit because of this. There's no way I will take a pay cut when other companies are already offering 10-30% over what I was making at Somo. After I quit, they refused to give me my full final paycheck. I fought with them for over a month to get my final pay without success.
