Pros
Established hospitality company with internal policy and a head office. You never have to worry about chasing your pay and there's always someone outside of your immediate workplace to talk to if you need to.
Cons
Managers and licensees have very little work/life balance and I put that down to high expectations coming from above. It's a decent job with good pay so I think a lot of managers really push to climb the ladder within Solotel, sometimes to their own detriment. This also means that managers put a lot of pressure on bar and gaming staff, probably more than other hospitality companies. The push to get customers to stay in the gaming room and for staff to constantly be cleaning up after cigarettes and cigarette ash is standard within the industry but something I wish I didn't have to do as a low paid worker just to make ends meet. My body took in years of carcinogenic substances so Solotel could turn higher profits.
