Pros
Growing company in a green industry, great for the planet, until you get inside and learn about the underbelly.
Cons
The unwritten business model of SolarCity is to hire as many sales people as possible, get their sales in the pipeline, fire them, then steal their commissions. Commissions are paid: 50% on sale, 25% at day 45, then 25% after install, which takes an intentionally delayed 4 to 6 months. If you leave the company, go on maternity or medical leave, or are fired, ***you lose all commissions beyond the current 30 day pay period in which you quit or were fired***. This means you will lose 50% of your earnings when you leave. This is the subject of a current class action lawsuit.
