Pros

Getting fresh air and exercise walking house to house cold calling potential customers.

Cons

1st interview was intriguing, so I decided to return for the second. Bad mistake. We met at Starbucks, & They had me drive myself behind one of the senior associates to an appointment selling their bottom tier outdated equipment. It was an hour 20 minute drive thru traffic, & by the time we got there I was having second thoughts. To be polite, that was the most awkward situation I've ever been in. She introduced me as a new employee, yet I knew zero about the product, the sales pitch, or the procedure to install their product. She kept on throwing out numbers, & the elderly lady seemed overwhelmed, but finally gave in after easking me what I thought about the product. The only honest thing I could tell her is that if it's saving the environment then why wouldn't she go for it? Honestly, after looking thru the brochures of the product I decided I could not sell such inferior solar systems with a good conscience, & I probably wouldn't be able to fool anyone who had done a little research on their own into buying the systems. If a normal day consisted of sitting thru over an hour of traffic to get to an appointment, lying to a potential customer about our inferior product, & possibly losing money on the many gallons of gas I wasted to get there without making a penny of the customer did not buy the system, then this definitely is not the company for me.

Pros

The priority is doing what's best for the customer and the environment. We offer customers the lowest rate in solar with the best equipment and the highest referral amount. It is great to be able to make a difference while having a great career. Also, the team is really tight and a lack of respect for coworkers isn't tolerated. Clear standards for upward mobility.

Cons

Not having a glassdoor presence cost me a sale. In several years, there were no reviews and one bad employee writing a pair of bad reviews even though he got fired for his terrible behavior, swayed a customer.

Pros

Solar is an excellent alternative to current electrical providers, and Solar Giants produces competitive products and prices. The office is comprised of a good group of dedicated workers that share advice and experiences with each other. Overall great sales experience and given a position to communicate an interesting and effective product to people.

Cons

The bad news is the product's competitive edge is based on the company's lack of investment in their employees. As a representative you are responsible for generating sales from scratch by going door to door (which may or may not be illegal without a permit), and only getting paid when a sale goes through (100% commission). This way the company has no problem hiring as many people as possible because the worst case scenario is that it won't cost them anything. What you are is free marketing for a multi-level marketing company. There is opportunity here, but more cases than not, you'll never see it. The CEO and some members coax you into believing the unlimited growth opportunity to get you to stick around longer because it's in their best interest and might put extra money in their pocket. If you do stick it out, you'll most likely receive a salary between $30-40k / annual, don't let them highball you into believing anything else.
