Pros

You get exposed to various areas of the accounting world from AP and AR to doing cost accounting. The day to day was never dull due to the variety of work there was.

Cons

The company as a whole was very disorganized. The training method that was used on me was just throwing the work at me and hoping I learn through experience. Many tasks will need the corporate office to either assist you or sign off on the work which is not terrible in of itself, but often times I'd be waiting days to hear from corporate causing a backlog of tasks to build up. It also seemed that there was a decent amount of turnover in the corporate office at the time of my employment, so not only was I learning on the job, but it appeared my corporate superiors were as well which would also lead to the entire process being less efficient.

Pros

My direct coworkers and other onsite employees are amazing and some of the nicest and most welcoming people I’ve ever met. The day to day responsibilities are enjoyable to work on most days. Company phone provided for work communications during work hours (you don’t have to take them home with you) Free meals on shifts worked (with restrictions) “Set schedule”

Cons

Work life balance is not great. You hire on for one position or schedule and then end up being required to perform job duties that are outside of your description on top of your daily responsibilities. Wages are really low. Unfair distribution of allotted overtime hours. Benefits are not good either. Insurance is really expensive for not great coverage. Maternity leave is only 6 weeks and only 60% of your pay covered by short term disability (that you pay for out of pocket until 2 years of service)
