Pros

- Perks (free gym membership, fun happy hours, lunches, etc.) - Junior to mid-level employees are fantastic - Small company so opportunities to wear a lot of hats (at least when I first started, but not as much now)

Cons

This is the right place for you if you're a "yes" man and prefer fun + games over being respected as an employee and in your career. The money made is mostly put into the pockets of the founders or pushed to overhead like getting a huge office with unnecessary "cool" things. I'll trade weekly lunches for a better salary any day. Keep in mind that if you speak out or question things, no one likes that and you will probably end up on management's "naughty" list. The founders will tell you their story over and over again, and eventually you'll realize it's because this company is all about them... everyone else is expendable.

We’d like to thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We’re committed to creating a collaborative, transparent, and growth-oriented environment for our employees and we’re disappointed that your experience did not match our intention of being the best workplace for our team. We take pride in the growth of the company— from starting with only $100 and growing to where we are now without any investment. Telling the story of how we started and talking about our values is one way we remind all our team members that at Smashtech, we’re only 1% done. As we grow, we want to make sure we communicate our goals and keep the same grit and the same thirst for growth. What makes Smashtech different is that we understand that we all spend most of our time at work and so we put a lot of effort into fostering a working environment that doesn’t feel like “work”. Part of that is having an amazing office space, a standout culture and of course, the perks. A majority of our employees enjoy the perks, as you mentioned you do too, like free gym membership, ability to wear many hats and grow, lunches, socials, etc. We also continuously re-evaluate these perks, the working environment, and our internal SOPs based on the constant feedback our employees provide through various avenues. Again, thank you for your feedback and we hope you have a better understanding of why we do what we do. We keep a “no door” policy and we encourage you to use the many ways available to provide these insights to our leadership team, such as our weekly anonymous surveys, 1-on-1s with your manager, team workshops, or, just feel free to approach any member of our leadership team at anytime.
