Pros

Progressive benefits, including: vacation, 401K, health/dental plans. Great people, great product, great technology. Southern NH location is ideal: close enough to Boston to attract good talent, but without the Massachusetts state income taxes.

Cons

In my 30 years in the software industry, I've seen takeovers, layoffs, reorgs and transitions. I've seen some of those handled well, and some handled poorly. But I've never seen a transition like the one currently happening at Skillsoft handled with such gross incompetence. During the 18-year history of the company, they've accumulated a vast amount of talent, knowledge and intellectual property. They have products that are highly respected in the industry. They have teams that work well together, and know the products and technologies inside and out. But while the new executives and management squabble among themselves, that talent is hemorrhaging rapidly, both voluntarily and involuntarily. And by the time they get a clue, if at all, it will be too late. Perhaps it is already.
