Pros
Was a place where growth was encouraged and people had a positive outlook. We were excelling in our field and earning steady profits.
Had a wonderful manager I worked under that fostered my growth as a tech and as an employee and worked with wonderful co-workers that fostered encouragement and growth of my abilities.
Was a call center where employees did not hate coming to work and in fact looked forward to it. Something that cannot be said for many companies.
We were one of the more technically minded companies in the field of warranty and claims.
A great accepting community
Cons
PermaPlate was acquired by Spectrum in 2025, and at the time we were told that nothing would change. This was a lie.
They removed 100 hours of our PTO without any reason and didn't pay it out(as per utah law despite verbal agreements to the contrary)
We went from a company that valued growth and new ideas to a company that was punished for it. I was told by our IT Director at Spectrum, when encouraged to bring ideas to him and projects we were working on that the project I had "Shant be started at the Permaplate level".
The IT environment became untenable with everyone in fear of losing their jobs or retaliation and with our director bullying coworkers under him and making and allowing derogatory comments to our female co-workers and frat boy humor level derogatory jokes in their office space. Harassment and harassment in general became rife under Spectrum.
The workplace became a hostile work environment and nothing was done by upper management in HR on the Spectrum level when it was brought up through the chain to them.
The business became less about people and more about pushing profits.
