Management is a disaster from the top-down. High level execs have no clue what day-to-day operations are like at their stations and don't care. The overall mentality is a "cover my butt and don't worry about anyone else." No support, no training, "sink or swim" mentality, outright lies to employees over compensation, benefits. Favoritism is rampant, rules only apply to some employees. Very punitive mentality toward employees--rather than working to train, prepare, empower their employees, management gives contradictory direction if any direction is given, and then when the outcome is unfavorable, blame the employee the incompetence of management. I was warned by many people in the media industry, not to take a job with Sinclair, but thought it would be okay because I was acquainted with the person who is now my boss from the business community, and was made many good promises about the job, including compensation and the flexibility of my schedule. All of the promises made at the onset, and throughout my employment, have been broken and appear to have been outright lies to get me in the door. There are no repercussions for managers, employees who request support or training are treated dismissively and then punished for not knowing how to operate the systems they've never been trained on. I have never had such an unfavorable work experience in my life, my income has been so unpredictable that I am worse-off financially and credit-wise, after taking this job. I actually am struggling to find another job due to the instability of this job, and the unkept promises.
