I was not lucky with my manager. The person did not have neither the technical skills nor the interpersonal/social skills for the role. HR and top management were aware (at least about the lack of interpersonal skills) but for some reason things did not change. Rotation in my department was very high because of this person. A pity, I believe Sika lost good people because of this. I believe top management is too focused on short term results and they are willing to compromise on many things to deliver numbers. This may have been the root cause. However I also got to met other department managers at Sika who were great professionals and people managers, these people treated their employees very well and were also admired by them.
