Signify was formerly Philips Lighting, a company that made a lot of money out of selling people lightbulbs, amoung other things.
The world buys fewer lightbulbs than it used to and Signify is in the process of attempting to make money out of other things than lightbulbs; this process is not necessarily a pleasant one and is still very much underway.
The office in 'Cambridge' (Pampisford, actually) used to be a small, independent company (Telensa) which was aquired by Signify in 2021.
It sometimes seems that we get the worst parts of being a small company (lack of resources, pressure to get unreasonable things done, no time for improvements) with the worst parts of a global company (lots of beauracracy, pointless meetings, burdensome processes).
