Pros

Beautiful paint. Decent flooring. Nice sales and discounts for employees. Hours are GREAT depending on store - like floorcover - the work is manageable to flat out nonexistent at those stores. The hiring team is VERY nice. These lovely people make you want to work for Sherwin as they are your first point of contact before meeting the store managers and team. The company is almost a monopoly in the paint world so it's hard to avoid.

Cons

Shady and/or primadonna contractors you need to babysit and placate. Delusional customers throwing tantrums for work that was done but they want to ditch paying the bill. Bonus if the work was done several months to a year prior and they are demanding a refund. Coworkers that make racist, sexist, and problematic DEI comments all day - but swear they AREN'T racist or sexist. Note: depending on the site the atmosphere is very "boys club" be aware if you are a woman and/or minority. Sites lacking proper equipment or unsafe conditions that are swept under the rug. Outdated technology. Lack of safety until something bad happens. Keep in mind bad doesn't mean the gunshot holes and bullet casings or caved in walls from a car crash. No, "bad" means someone's wallet is lost and they are convinced the "thieving illegal alien" contractors stole it so the building finally gets a security camera. Lack of staff some days - only one or two people working. Over time HELL and back breaking bucket lifting for paint stores. The company is almost a monopoly in the paint world so it's hard to avoid.

Pros

Leadership training, flexible schedule if your store has the necessary staffing, 401k match

Cons

If you don't have staffing then you are required to work weekends consistently, Sales calls requirements keep getting higher and higher, incompetent corporate leadership. Pay is based on 44 hours worked weekly for assistants(48 for Store managers; leaves room for less work/life balance
