Pros
The bonuses and benefits are nice. I also loved the contractors I got to interact with, they kept me going!
Cons
Don't let recruitment fool you, if you value yourself or your time, don't do it. First off, you won't have a life. By that I mean you will work ALL OF THE TIME and when you want to take PTO you either get denied or your coworkers talk crap about you for wanting time off. As an Assistant Manager you are really just a glorified sales associate with better pay. You will be mixing paint, on the phone, taking orders, and being a cashier your whole day. You don't actually have any authority. And if you try to act like some type of manager, your staff will talk down to you because you are younger than them or you are newer. If you can get past all of that, go for it. My last straw was the fact that I was being corporate bullied by an employee. I spoke with various managers and then eventually went to the district manager who did absolutely nothing. This employee made it MISERABLE to come to work and neither the district manager or HR themselves did anything at all. Lastly if you aren't in the district manager's inner circle you can kiss any promotion goodbye. Ended my run with huge corporations that only care about putting money in their pocket. Work with a company now that actually cares. Save yourselves from despair and just decline the offer.
