Pros

Pay and pension, remote working. People do not really come to the office much any more.

Cons

With Wael taking charge, it has been a rapid downward journey. Shell is hard driven towards maximising shareholder value at the expense of everything and everyone - targeting very short term objectives. - culture and ethics in ruin - mediocre people hold tight to their seats while able and bright leave - continued shrinking pools of skilled and qualified professionals - continuous re-orgs - no initiative, no modernisation, people too afraid to upset anyone and risk their roles - everything what can be stopped is stopped, what can’t be stopped is switched to just keeping the lights on

Pros

Early career engineers are given significant ownership and exposure to complex operational challenges. Strong focus on safety, technical development, and collaboration across disciplines. Opportunities to work on high-impact projects, interact with senior leadership, and contribute to decisions affecting major assets and infrastructure.

Cons

Workloads can be demanding, and priorities can shift quickly based on operational needs. Decision-making processes can be slow due to organizational complexity, and geographic mobility may be necessary for certain career opportunities.
