Pros
My immediate coworkers were some of the loveliest people I've ever worked with. I'd totally poach them if given the chance.
Cons
Everything else. There are firms with good, trusted reputations, clear strategies, goals and a sense of a unified culture. Seyfarth is a firm with a lot of bodies. My impression was of a scattered mindset, unclear goals, at times, haphazard legal practices, a technologically vintage environment and an apathetic attitude toward employees, all with a consistent and prescient pall of expendability looming. The office design was oppressive and the antithesis of a workspace designed to foster a team or collegial environment. For anyone coming with significant experience from a reputable firm, the adjustment to this unorthodox firm will be jarring. I suppose that for a brand new practitioner with no basis for comparison, or for someone coming back to law after unemployment, Seyfarth might (?) be an ok place to gain experience. I view my time there as a very unfortunate blip.
