Pros
I love driving. And I was proud to be a SEPTA employee. After years of searching I found my niche as a SEPTA bus operator. The pay is great after two years of employment. There is lots of overtime at the Victory depot at 69th street because nobody wants to come to work. Lots of lazy employees.
Cons
The management is trained to treat their drivers (i.e., operators) like dirt. It sounds crazy, and it is, but sadly it's true. You will be nit-picked over trivial rule violations. You will be harassed and eventually fired/suspended and forced to work with the so called union to get your job back. Very demeaning and stressful. Buffoons are promoted for no other reason then knowing a "big shot" downtown at the 1234 Market street H.Q. Everyone else remains an operator or forced out of employment.
