Pros
Some of the coworkers are awesome, wonderful people.
Cons
The owner of this company is highly involved in the day to day aspects of operations which is not a positive thing. He is not a leader but is a “boss” - he rules with fear and intimidation. He has no problem screaming at employees, calling out their mistakes and berating them in front of a room full of people. He micromanages every minuscule detail so if you’re looking for a position to grow and learn by working somewhat autonomously, this is not the right company for you. Since there are no proper policies and procedures in place, mistakes happen frequently but everyone is so fearful to make a mistake that there is no accountability or ownership. This is likely due to the fact that the owner keeps a “Wall of Shame” in his office for everyone to see.
As an exempt/salaried employee, don’t expect any type of schedule flexibility. You are required to work 40 hours a week and punch a time clock despite the fact that you’re not paid hourly. If you need to leave early or come in late, you will be required to use PTO.
There is no positive culture or employee engagement at Senex. I’ve never worked in an environment where favoritism, hypocrisy, discrimination and harassment is so prevalent. I’m amazed that no one has reported this company, or the owner, to the Department of Labor or EEOC.
