Pros
My experience at Seneca ESG has been incredibly rewarding. I had the opportunity to start from the ground up and learn a great deal over the course of five months. I left with a deep sense of fulfillment, as the learning journey has been steep and challenging—but ultimately, completely worth it.
In particular, I had the privilege of supporting the research team and working closely with the EMEA Head of Advisory, who fully supported my growth by providing valuable knowledge, learning resources, and continuously entrusting me with new responsibilities. This greatly contributed to my development both professionally and personally.
Moreover, the entire team at the Amsterdam office —starting from the CEO—truly exemplifies why this company is destined for success. Everyone possesses deep expertise and a shared aspiration to make a meaningful, positive impact in the ESG space. Their dedication is evident: they often work beyond regular hours, not out of obligation but from genuine passion for the company’s mission. As an intern, I was never asked to stay late, but witnessing their commitment inspired me to give my best during my working hours.
In addition to their professionalism, the team is warm and welcoming. They were always willing to share their knowledge—and even a meal or a tea break—creating a collaborative and inclusive environment. I am especially grateful for the support they gave me in taking the next steps in my career.
Cons
Just a few observations for those considering this position. The pace is very fast, and you’ll often be assigned a variety of smaller tasks on top of your ongoing projects. This can be challenging, but also rewarding if approached with the right mindset. Strong organizational skills are essential to manage your time effectively and stay on top of responsibilities.
