nice office in city center
some people are genuinely nice and helpful
flexible working hours with option to work from home
Cons
employees are left to struggle a lot
deadlines change a lot and it’s difficult to plan anything
the company struggles to hire qualified workforce - they usually end up hiring people who are close to retirement and have never worked in IT before. This sounds nice in theory but in reality those people are really difficult to onboard and even after onboarding they fail at their tasks. This causes them a lot of stress and they have a habit of taking it out on younger colleagues - I had the same experience with people from different departments.
toxic and incompetent seniors
unfair distribution of work and generally high workload
lots of technical debt from previous employees
meeting account for 50 to 70 % of my working time (just for comparison: it used to be up to 25 at the company I worked before)
