We always appreciate feedback and want to constantly improve. It seems like this review was written by an employee who worked here over 2 years ago. Since then a lot has changed.
We changed project managers and we also have an experienced lead developer who manages developers.
We have much more planning in place now.
Our developers often learn quite a lot and go on to get great jobs later. It is true that we don’t pay for training, but we do for on the job learning. Developers look at stackoverflow all the time and this isn’t an issue.
We are against micromanagement. The only time we look at hubstaff is when the productivity of an employee is poor. This allows us to give constructive feedback and let the employee know how to improve.
We pay developers based on a mix of factors, including experience, competence, position and other factors. We currently pay our developers anywhere between $40k-70k/yr or $20-$35/hr and there’s anything but a shortage of work.
This being said, there is always room for improvement, and we hope to keep improving with time.
