Pros
This is a great place to work if you need some experience in an enterprise IT environment. Company likes to promote from within their helpdesk to keep labor costs down instead of hiring engineers off the street. IT processes are relatively mature, so as a junior, you can learn a lot in this environment. Health insurance is paid by company 100%, but this is their only good benefit and benefits have been cut the last two years. They have an "unlimited" vacation policy, however it is difficult to actually get the time off "approved".
Cons
This company is cheap, I can not emphasize this enough. Do not expect to get any raise ever. Whatever you hire in at is what you will make until you leave. There is no money for training with this company. 401k is only 0.5% matching instead of the regular 4.0%. Senior Engineer pay is well below market rate. 50-55 hour weeks are the norm for this company as they are severely understaffed. Upper mgmt encourages employees to lie to their customers about project status and resource availability to make the company look good. HR literally bribes employees to fill out Computer World and other publication satisfaction surveys so they can "win" best place to work awards. At this company, public relations image is everything and delivering services is second. There are real ethical issues with upper management. Employee evaluations are political, not based on any real performance data. This is a really messed up company with management that is only interested in the almighty dollar. If you are a senior looking to expand your career and experience, forget it. The hierarchy is incredibly siloed and the silos really don't work well together. All the groups point fingers at each other when there are problems. Everyone gets put into their box and they're not allowed out. Upper management is also very unprofessional, often telling employees they're not worth what they're paid and constantly reminding employees that everyone is replaceable, usually with cheaper offshore labor as they are rapidly expanding their offshore Indian presence.
