Pros

I have worked at Sector Alarm Customer service center in Mijas for many years. Pros of working there is that food is included, small part of your salary goes towards that being "free". Applies to breakfast and lunch. There are activities of course, kick offs, summer games, AWs etc - like any other company. The colleagues are great, the company says culture, but its not that. The people come together mostly very nicely.

Cons

Company culture - Sector Alarm values this very highly, but truth is they do not care about their people. Everyone is expendable, no matter how long you have worked or how hard you work. Career growth - Sector Alarm says they are a career company - however the manager positions are all "pre-chosen" although there is an application process. Happens time and again. Salary - Sector Alarm was once the salary leader in the area, however now they are behind significantly. New bonus model was implemented, however this model just completely demolished the culture and turned everyone into robots. 10x2 + 1 hour lunch breaks were replaced with 5 minute breaks every hour + 35 min lunch = turned everyone into robots and the workplace and people to statistics and numbers.

Pros

The product itself is solid, and the technicians out in the field work incredibly hard under very difficult circumstances.

Cons

Unrealistic scheduling: The daily schedule is so tightly packed that having a proper lunch break is almost impossible. Tasks like vehicle maintenance, inventory, and administration are allocated minimal time, forcing employees to handle them during personal time. Toxic sales pressure: An aggressive focus on sales targets that often disregard the customer’s actual needs. The pressure is constant, creating an unstable work environment. Poor workplace culture: Management is passive-aggressive and allows a high-school-like culture to thrive. Instead of receiving constructive feedback, you are met with gossip behind your back and a mocking attitude from peers and supervisors when under stress. Even the sick leave process is unnecessarily bureaucratic, requiring multiple calls to different departments.

Pros

Great collegues, very friendly and they all are willing to give advice to help you improve. Great opportunity if you have no prior experience, whether you will excel or not is almost entirely based on your personality.

Cons

Little to no structure in the office. Was really surprised to learn that such a big company with a large presense in Sweden and several countries in Europe have such an ”ad hoc”-structure. Including termination (both my own and other former colleagues). While they say that the work hours are 15-21, you are expected to show up at 12, and most days end at 22 at the earliest. So keep that in mind.
