Pros
Free tanning, supportive coworkers who know management is NOT a resource and we looked out for each other
Cons
Crap really flows downhill at this company and stress is put on the sales people to achieve goals without given the tools to do so. "Management" are a bunch of people who have just graduated high school and don't really have any skills. Being explicitly told to LIE to customers if asked about commission. EVERY single person works on commission at this company. When you're lying to a customer, you know you're doing something wrong. Being explicitly told to never say the word "burn" (it's "overexpose") or "orange". A company policy that goes against common sense is never good either: A customer must tell you "no" three times before you stop trying to sell to them and just put them in the bed with the services they've already paid for. Communication between stores and corporate is a joke. Sales doesn't even know about promos until customers come in with the email blasts. This explains why there are so many "mistakes" and "free tans" to make up for them. Chaos and disorganization is rampant. Poor communication leads to people just passing on a problem to someone else and mentally checking out of the job. It's extremely difficult to provide professional customer service when there is no CRM software. My store used sticky notes to communicate about customer problems, which no one would handle because it didn't make them commission. It was embarrassing to be a part of.
