Pros
I joined as an intern back when it was a small two bedroom work-live situation - the CEO lived and breathed the job and would sleep there on weekdays even. It was a really flexible schedule for the engineers, we would pop in to code with him, finish up at home, take a work day from the beach sometimes. As long as you got your work done he didn’t care. It was a great environment, just a bunch of computer geeks jamming out and coding all day. That amazing office is now empty cause of the pandemic still, but hopefully it opens up again soon. Such a good vibe. We transitioned from a software to a professional service mentality in my 2nd year, and things grew so quick. We went from 7 employees to 20 overnight.. I was employee #7, now there are over 35+ of us working. The company grew fast but it still has that nice boutique feel still. Within 2 years, I had gotten to a level where I could make decisions, so promotions happen pretty quick if you prove yourself.
Cons
Nothing that I can think of
