Pros
Not bad for sophomore or freshman in college. Having private equity on your resume definitely looks good. It also a much laid back startup culture. The dress code is very casual and there’s no official time to be at the office.
Cons
It’s unpaid and the management treats you like that. The work is very monotonous/repetitive. I came in with false expectations that this internship, although unpaid, would provide a platform for me to network and learn valuable skills in private equity. Instead, I spent 8 hours a day finding emails of businesses. There are so many unpaid interns approx. 40, that you are essentially expendable. I felt my boss was not invested in me and my growth. I would not recommend this internship to a peer.
