Pros
Colleagues generally nice, a few bad apples but that is to be expected in any organisation. A lot of freedom given to explore the best ways of doing things, and not as much bureaucracy or red tape that you may get in more corporate organisations.
Cons
Like many others have said, the senior management is chaotic and constantly changing direction, focus and making exceedingly poor decisions in the face of what long-term employees know won't work. There is a weird vibe to the place - it doesn't have a consistent culture and the differing approaches at the various campuses don't really help. It can be quite grim, and some of the facilities are woefully out of date (the halls of residence are particularly awful). The animal welfare varies wildly and for a rural college the facilities for some of the animals are pretty dreadful.
