Pros

The pay was decent, good benefits, and ample opportunity for growth within the company.

Cons

Remember that this place is an internet marketing company who specialize in generating positive feedback, and take all of the glowing reviews with a grain of salt. Scorpion Design has a strange and obnoxious company culture, with an employee median age of probably 24 years old. Rather than contributing to a fun working environment, the complete lack of maturity and professionalism makes it hard to do your job. From what I understand, the owner of the company hired all of their friends to work at Scorpion, and as the company grew, they hired all of their friends, and so on. As a result, very few in the company are actually qualified for their positions. This has created a situation where you have a ton of managers who are really young, who don't have a lot of real world experience, but have fancy work titles, and have developed a totally arrogant attitude The pay, which is salary, at first seems pretty good. However, when you factor in all of the over time hours you will be expected to put in, it really isn't that much. If you accept a job here, be prepared to regularly dress up in really stupid costumes, deal with cliques reminiscent of jr high school, put in a ton of overtime, and report to a boss who is 23 and inexperienced.

Pros

I think it is so easy to criticize a company as innovative and forward-looking as Scorpion. It’s easy to lose sight of what it means to be working for a real visionary in the industry. There is no one else in this entire space who is even thinking the way that the CEO and other executive leaders are. If being the best possible solution for the types of businesses this company serves isn’t for you, there are plenty of smaller companies that don’t do any of this revolutionary stuff you can go work for.

Cons

Yes, tools break and people make mistakes. But they also get fixed and people do listen.

Pros

Autonomous, remote, stable, and tons of company updates on how we are "winning".

Cons

Went from 60 to 53 after COVID, and after some hard-fought raises and 8+ years of consistent work and excellent customer service, I got back to 60, but no bones, no recognition, and inflation has made it to where I have to work 2 jobs to make ends meet. Loyalty and hard work during terrible "reorganizations" where good team members got let go while one minimum price client out of 200+ covers two people, and everything got dumped on the remainders. Vesting stocks that still haven't vested after 7+ years. No actual growth opportunities, and any possible position change is lateral movement with no upward movement, bones, or any real pay raises since I've started here. Won't even give us a minimum of 1 client's worth of salary. Many friends have asked for a job, and I've basically told them not to bother, as there is no point and no opportunity.

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Eight years and counting is quite the milestone, and we’re excited to continue to celebrate your dedication in the Mojo channel and beyond. We’re glad to hear that you’ve valued the autonomy, remote flexibility, and visibility into the company's performance. At the same time, we’re sorry to hear how frustrated and unsupported you’ve felt, especially given the consistency and effort you’ve put in over the years. We hear your concerns around compensation, recognition, and growth opportunities. Long-tenured team members play a critical role in maintaining stability and client success, and it’s important that they feel valued for those contributions. Our annual pay review process is designed to recognize strong performance and ensure we remain competitive with the market, but feedback like yours makes it clear we still have work to do in how that’s experienced. We also recognize the impact that reorganizations and increased workloads can have on teams. Ensuring changes are handled thoughtfully and that those who remain feel supported and set up for success is something we continue to focus on improving. Thank you again for your honesty and for the time you’ve invested here. Your perspective is important, and if you’re open to sharing more, I’d welcome the opportunity to connect at AmyL@scorpion.co.
