Pros
My time at Schellman has been great thus far! Some pros that really stood out for me : - Great pay and benefits (up to 10% matching on 401k is unheard of) - Managers are really helpful and knowledgeable. I worked for another national CPA firm prior to joining Schellman, and one noticeable difference is the level of involvement the manager has within the projects. Managers are always helpful and willing to help the Seniors out because they understand how it is like to be in the Senior's place. Unlike the other traditional CPA firms, where managers usually delegate projects out for the seniors to manager, Schellman does a great job in holding both the managers and seniors accountable for a successful project. - On-boarding was great! The company does a great job in slowly ramping up the pace for the new hire. For the first few months, managers understand that there is a learning curve in the way Schellman audits, and both managers and experienced seniors are very helpful in teaching new hires.
Cons
The only con I can think of is that projects are pretty fast-paced and have a tight deadline, but this is to be expected in the external audit world.
