Pros

- Guaranteed forty hours a week. - Consistent 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM schedule, Tuesday through Saturday.

Cons

- 90% of the people that I worked with spoke very, very minimal English. Upper management would put me in departments with these non-English speaking people and have them "train" me on how to work in the department. I didn't know what they were telling me half of the time, and then because I couldn't understand, I would get yelled at for not doing the job correctly. - Working in production is basically like working in a sweatshop. Upper management pushes and pushes employees to pull numbers that are impossible. - At the store I worked at, it was very obvious that the store manager was not a fan of white people and only liked Hispanics. Any white people working in this store didn't last long - including myself. - I had my phone stolen from me while I worked here and they ultimately did nothing about it. I was never given a locker which is why it was stolen, and even after it was stolen, they still didn't give me a locker even though they kept telling me they would. I couldn't prove who stole my phone because the area where my purse was located was not visible by the break room camera. - The company talks SO much about helping "local non-profits" and local charities and how they do so much good. Don't be fooled by this. They just care about making money. And trust me, management and the people on top make a ridiculous amount of money considering this is a thrift store. The reason they send unsold merchandise to Africa is to have something to make them look good and to have somewhere to get rid of the crap that doesn't sell without trashing it. - Savers claims that they offer "competitive salaries". That's hilarious. The minimum wage where I live is $7.80 and I, along with all of the other new hires, got paid $8.00. I actually had previous experience in a very relevant job and that didn't mean anything to them. - They push employees to put out thousands of items, and half of them end up getting taken off of the floor a few weeks later to "recycle" for obvious reasons. Totally unproductive. How about putting a little bit less out, and not forcing us to put out disgusting crap to make our quotas? All they care about is quantity and not quality and then they wonder why the store isn't doing as well as it should.

Pros

It's a Job I guess

Cons

The pay is just over minimum wage. There is no work life balance they don't offer holiday pay and require you to work on all holidays except for Christmas and Thanksgiving. They constantly add new thing to the job and will never give you a pay raise or advancement. All around bad company that's taking advantage of working class Americans.
