The pay is incredibly low, barely above minimum wage, which is shocking for a developer role in Luxembourg. During the interview, they boasted about all the modern technologies they use, which made me excited to join. However, once I started, I realized they don't use any of those technologies in practice.
They had a few projects and asked which one I preferred, but despite my choice, they assigned me to the project I explicitly said I didn’t want. It turned out to be a pointless migration project using outdated technology that is irrelevant to any future job. Worse, the client eventually decided to terminate the project, leaving the company scrambling.
Instead of addressing the real issues, like their management's inability to maintain good client relationships, they decided to lay off half the workforce. Strangely enough, the manager they hired a year ago to find new clients (who hasn’t delivered a single one) wasn’t laid off, likely because of their friendship with the CEO. Meanwhile, those of us who actually worked were the ones let go.
This company is also blatantly discriminatory. When layoffs happened, they targeted employees who don’t speak French. The management is exclusively French, and if you're not French, don’t expect any career growth or promotions.
The pay is the lowest I’ve seen in Luxembourg for developers. Any other developer job will pay you more. They lost the client because management had a falling out with them, but instead of firing the management responsible for this, they fired the developers. When they lost the client, they promised us they would find new clients and that no one would be laid off—but shortly after making those promises, the layoffs began.
I would not recommend this company to anyone. It’s poorly managed, discriminatory, and the pay is insultingly low. Avoid at all costs.
