Pros

Lunch is provided for on-site staff.

Cons

I have to echo the words of the other reviewer. There is no support and no leadership here. The leadership team is adrift and the BD team has no experience working in a heavily technical science based environment.

Pros

Sapient has given me an opportunity to work on projects that can make a big difference to improve human health. The technology and platform can be applied in different ways to develop more effective drugs and improve diagnosis for different diseases. Each project feels unique, which prevents me from getting bored and keeps motivation high. I also really enjoy the people that I work with, from my immediate teammates to collaborating with members of other groups. Everyone genuinely wants the company to succeed and is working together to achieve that goal.

Cons

Sapient is a rapidly growing company, so there are some processes that need smoothing out. These are typical growing pains in any new company. The fast-paced environment can be demanding at times. It requires agility and flexibility to keep up with competing priorities. This can take some getting used to at first, and it may not be the best fit for everyone (especially if you are used to very structured environments). That said, it is a fun environment for anyone that likes diverse work and to challenge themselves.

Pros

Sapient is an excellent place to grow and play a meaningful role in the evolution of an exciting analytical technology. The people here are committed and genuinely care about the work they are doing and supporting one another. The company has the potential to revolutionize drug discovery and ultimately deliver real value to providers and patients that need better therapeutics. There is always a new hurdle to overcome and has allowed me to branch out from my core competencies to grow as a professional.

Cons

As with all startups, growing pains are part of the game and the company has gone through its share of needing to pivot and reinvent itself. Compensation will not be what is achievable at a larger or more mature organization, but that is true of any start up. The work and time needs change frequently due to the variable nature of progress at a startup, which I find exciting and engaging even though it can be challenging.
