Being a mental health research group the organization is gravely affected by structural disparities. Class bias is evident here. Even though it is a mental health organisation and people here preach self-care and self-awareness, it is a highly competitive environment. You will survive if you blur the boundaries between work and self-care. Most of the people (I strongly believe it's all of the people) working here are burnt out and struggling. The one's who do manage to establish a boundary between work and self-care are undervalued and rejected at the first opportunity. You are highly micromanaged, which can be extremely frustrating. The very low pay scale adds to the distress.
