Cons

The company does very little to make certain kinds of work more efficient and easy for its employees, and it is extremely strict with certain policies that are clearly designed to protect itself from legal problems.

Pros

Good brand recognition. The Samsung name opens the door for those all important initial conversations in a way that few brand names do. The size of SDSA is such that even relatively low levels of employees have unique insights into how a large company operates.

Cons

Below average salary. Poor benefits, compared to similar companies. And abysmal benefits, compared to the tech companies that SDS continually compares itself to. Extensive racism against non-Korean employees. Management is indecisive and noncommittal, few are willing to lead and commit to new projects least there be difficulty down the road, and then that potential failure gets put on leadership’s permanent record. (and yes, Samsung employees do have a permanent record.) the planning cycle seems to only be about a year long so that when a new executive comes in sometimes years worth of work can be scrapped on a dime. The focus for the company for years has been cost-cutting to the detriment of investment in people and product.
