Pros
I started working at Salt Life Food Shack in July of 2020 as a host my senior year of high school. I graduated high school in May of 2021 and go to Florida State University. Over the past 4 years, this company has truly become a family to me. They continue to welcome me back with open arms and I am deeply grateful for the relationships I have built with the management and staff. I have worked at 3 restaurants since joining the industry providing me with insight on different work environments. The Salt Life team is communicative, accommodating, and organized. I have had the opportunity to train new-hires and admire the process management provides trainers with to ensure an efficient and successful transition. With the restaurant located on the beach, the setting is truly unbeatable. It is lively, fun, fast-paced, and the staff is more than helpful. Having the privilege of meeting families/friends from all over the world mixed with live music is an added bonus to working at a tourist/local favorite. I cannot praise Salt Life enough and will continue to recommend them as a workplace or go-to dining experience.
Cons
There are very minimal cons when speaking about Salt Life Food Shack. The only issue I have faced over the past 4 years with this company is parking. Saint Augustine being a tourist destination, it can be a little difficult to find parking during busy season. The pros of working for Salt Life definitely outweigh the one problem that is parking.
