Bloated middle management made up of people who failed at their original jobs and now get the responsibility of telling other people how to do theirs.
If you have genuine talent and want to develop a career, avoid Sage at all costs. I've seen product marketing managers who don't know how to use PowerPoint, sales enablement team members who failed at sales, field sales reps who don't have a drivers licence. The list goes on.
There is no way to even feedback concerns. Every quarter or so the company issues a staff survey to complete but you quickly realise that it's results are only used to support management's agenda. Nothing ever changes for the better, but they'll gaslight you into thinking they're doing something.
Sage recently won an award for Most Sustainable company by Time which calls into serious question the legitimacy of the award. Sage has multiple teams in the UK ran by leaders in the US who are regularly flown over for meetings and leadership offsite days. They then push for staff to car share, ride bikes to work or walk and demand we all work 3 days per week in the office. Absolute hypocrisy at its finest and clearly shows Time and its award are seriously questionable.
The share price is now all that leadership are concerned about. Client numbers are decreasing which means the company has to continually increase prices and reduce overheads like staff numbers and pay rises.
Prediction - Sage will hit their SaaS rule of 40 in the near term at the cost of staff and client numbers. Steve Hare and the leadership team will ride off into the sunset with their massive bonuses and leave a shell of a company behind.
