Pros
Good opportunity to move up if you're a hard worker.
Cons
If you're a lady, be prepared for the barrage of illegal questions (Are you married? Will you ever get married? Kids?) that will determine their decision in promoting you or advancing you at all. If you are non-Japanese, be prepared for the immense language barriers between you and the staff. The staff do not care AT ALL about learning English even though they are working with American clients. Also, their ENTIRE outside sales team is men. They don't even have their own HR. All of their HR decisions are made on their Japanese side. Starting pay for a customer service representative (even though it's truly an inside sales job and more) is $30,000. They will raise your wage once a year at the MINIMUM income based requirement for a raise. The work I did was easily worth $45k plus. They offered me my promotion to be in outside sales. but without a salary or title bump. They still wanted me to call myself a customer service rep. They label clubs/bars/strip clubs visits for their clients in their international travel as "business expenses". The list goes on. Don't work for this "black kaisha" company.
