Pros

It’s hard to really feel good about SOCi these days.

Cons

Yet another round of “organizational leveling”. Last one was in November. It’s taking a toll on morale and you are always wondering if you are next. Strange for a company that is growing. The HR department says reach out and voice your concerns - personally at SOCi, here on Glassdoor, round-table discussions, surveys. But in reality, people at SOCi are terrified of HR and no one in their right mind is going to give them honest feedback for the fear of retribution. But you can see some carefully crafted response written by Chat GPT here though. Let’s get this strait: 1) They keep laying people off with little or no remorse - so little humanity and it’s sad 2) They made our 401k worse 3) They messed with our health benefits 4) They reduced Maternity Leave 5) They own People and Culture while destroying it. Maybe they should let the people define the culture. Thats a thought But they say it’s all with employees best interest in mind. Which employees? Let’s be honest for once - The ones who are in charge and get big paychecks is really who they are talking about.

SOCi Response

Hi, thank you for submitting your feedback about your experience at SOCi. We want to make it clear to you that our HR team welcomes all feedback, constructive and positive, with the utmost respect and priority to make changes that will better enable our employees. Over the last year, we have collected, analyzed, and taken action on employee feedback via our Gallup surveys - and are excited to continue launching programs for the business such as our new career development program and our reward and recognition program that will come in the next couple of months. We’d also like to reiterate, as we have in previous responses, that each Glassdoor review submitted is carefully reviewed by a small team of individuals who escalate concerns to the relevant leaders, and we craft a thorough response to each review without any assistance of AI. In terms of benefits, there have not been any negative changes to our 401k offering, as we have historically offered a discretionary match. The decision to evaluate the timing of the discretionary match is part of our commitment to align benefits with company performance and have the opportunity to potentially provide our employees with additional matches should company outcomes be favorable. For our health benefits, we continue to offer the best-in-class options while maintaining a flat medical benefits renewal, with SOCi absorbing the cost of all increases. Lastly, our maternity leave has not been reduced as we now offer 8 weeks fully paid to anyone that meets leave criteria (FMLA, state, and local jurisdiction laws will continue to be the guidance we follow) - this is benchmark for our size company and providing a common employee experience across all leave types was important as we made this decision. These changes were made with our employees’ best interests in mind, and we will continue to be transparent about the state of the business in our All-Hands meetings, monthly Town Halls, and leadership channels. We hope you will reach out to your HRBP to address your concerns, so we can support you in your role here at SOCi. Please feel free to email sociexperience@meetsoci.com if you have additional thoughts as well. Thank you for your dedication to SOCi for over three years!

Pros

I appreciate the company's strong focus on employee wellness and well-being. The company respects personal boundaries and encourages a healthy balance between work and life. Employees are trusted to do their jobs, creating a positive and empowering work environment.

Cons

.Like any growing company, there are areas where processes and execution can continue to improve. Cross-functional alignment and collaboration among leadership teams could be strengthened to improve decision-making and organizational effectiveness.

Pros

The people on the ground are great. There are many hardworking, talented individuals who do their best to support one another despite the internal challenges.

Cons

Product vs. Sales Gap: The product capabilities were overpromised, leaving the post-sales teams to deal with the fallout. Instead of a true SaaS offering, customers often treat the company like a service agency because the software doesn't reliably do what they expect. Customer Friction: Because of these product gaps, you are constantly dealing with unhappy customers. It’s a "whack-a-mole" situation with technical issues, making it nearly impossible to show long-term value. Internal Ghosting: When you need help with these customer issues, internal support is hit-or-miss. You’ll often find people talking in circles or simply ghosting you when things get difficult. Burnout and Turnover: Between the frequent reorgs and the stress of the product issues, morale is at an all-time low. Many people have either quit, been let go, or have had to take leave for mental health reasons. Pay was lower than industry average, so adding that to all the other issues above means it is not a sustainable place to work long term.
