Pros
Pay is nice Benefits are decent for the area Work is rewarding sometimes Good hours Lots of overtime
Cons
Management doesn't care about the Handlers; one of the Directors said "A monkey with a wrench could do your job" Work can be tedious and over exertion is common Workers Compensation doesn't cover enough half the time There's too much gossip that management doesn't stop that destroys relationships and creates a hostile workplace Turnover is extremely high, if you work longer than 8 months you might be the senior most person on a crew other than the supervisor OSHA violations are plenty commonplace, but if you report it, you run the risk of being written up. Also, if you make a mistake on a forklift (like accidentally catch the ground strap on a dock plate) they revoke your license and send you back to training, which hurts productivity
